Terms and Conditions

(OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia Professional Affiliate Programme)

  1. The list of eligible organisations, associations, institutions and/or corporation is subject to change at the sole discretion of Chery Auto Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“CAMSB”).
  2. In the case of an eligible corporation, the vehicle purchased must be registered under the company name.
  3. In the case of an eligible individual, the vehicle purchased must be registered under the individual's name or that of his immediate family member (spouse, parents or children).
  4. Registration under immediate family member will require documentation proof such as marriage certificate or birth certificate, whichever applicable.
  5. Customer shall submit all required documentations to CAMSB's authorised dealers, failing which the application will not be processed by CAMSB.
  6. Eligible customer shall only be entitled to all the benefits or the purchase of brand-new OMODA & JAECOO vehicle from CAMSB's authorised dealers.
  7. The applicability, computation and allowances of the benefits in each purchase shall be subject to approval by CAMSB at its absolute discretion.
  8. All decisions made by CAMSB are final and no appeals or discussions will be entertained.
  9. CAMSB reserves the right to terminate the Professional Affiliate Programme at any time without prior notice.
  10. By submitting the application to CAMSB's authorised dealers, the customer affirms that he has read, understood, and agreed to the policies in CAMSB's Privacy Policy and consent to his personal data being processed and used by CAMSB as stipulated in the said Privacy Policy in OMODA & JAECOO official website.
  11. These Terms and Conditions may be amended, replaced and/or deleted at any time in CAMSB's sole discretion.

JAECOO J8: A New First Class Off-Road Experience

As a new entry to the Malaysian market, OMODA & JAECOO has been busy introducing premium SUVs at lightning speed like no other brand. Following the successful launches of the C9 and J7 PHEV, OMODA & JAECOO continues its rapid expansion with the debut of another all-new SUV — the JAECOO J8, launched in Malaysia from RM178,800.

What's in store for Malaysian drivers with this latest vehicle? Let's get the rundown on what JAECOO's premium off-road SUV has to offer.

Nuts and Bolts 

The JAECOO J8 is a D-segment SUV with two variants available: a two-wheel drive (2WD) in a five-seat configuration and all-wheel drive (AWD) with six seats in a 2-2-2 layout.

Powering the SUV is a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline-four petrol engine making 249 PS (245 hp or 183 kW) and 385 Nm of torque. Drive goes to either the front or all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. 

As standard, the SUV comes equipped with dual 12.3-inch center display screens for touchscreen-accessible info, Level 2.5 Advanced Driver Assist (ADAS), a 540-degree camera system, wireless charging, and SONY sound system. The AWD variant adds leather seats, NFC-based keyless entry, powered front and second-row seats with massage function, and on-board DVR and fragrance systems. 

With 700 litres of boot space (2WD version), there's plenty of room for cargo. Boot space however drops to 200L in the AWD version but you get powered doors instead.     

Off-Road Ready 

In the premium off-road-ready SUV stakes, the J8 boasts JAECOO's Continuous Damping Control (CDC) technology integrated into the AWD variant's suspension system for superior control and handling in any challenging terrain. Also enhancing its capability is Dynamic Torque Vectoring (AWD only), which precisely distributes power to individual wheels as needed. This optimises traction and stability, especially during cornering or in low-grip situations. The intelligent adaptive suspension can read the road surface and adjust the suspension accordingly in real-time, a top-tier engineering feature that's previously been reserved for luxury brands that cost much more. With no less than seven drive modes, it also has a wading depth of 450mm, suitable for any off-road adventure you may want.

Fuel consumption under the WLTP standard is rated at 8.1 litres per 100 km for the AWD variant and 7.8 litres per 100 km for the 2WD, with both versions equipped with a 65-litre fuel tank.

Form With Function: Sleek Good Looks

Styling-wise, the JAECOO J8 boasts a large, unmistakable grill, perhaps taking a leaf from some European luxury marques. Robust haunches, twin exhausts, 20-inch alloy wheels (AWD variant), with flush pop-out door handles and LED full-width tail lights give this SUV strong and sleek lines that signal power, performance and prestige. 

Ambient lighting adds pizzazz to interior spaces, while a refined wood-panelled dash integrated with a dual-screen 12-inch HD display adds an appropriately tech-forward look.

The J8 comes equipped with level 2.5 ADAS with all bells and whistles that implies, and a handy auto park function (AWD variant) for lazy days or tricky spots. With ample interior space, and ventilated captain seats with massage functions and sunshades, passengers will be plenty comfy while being ferried around like kings (or queens). Gentle soft-close doors provide that premium touch every time you enter or exit.    

Looks like Malaysian buyers in the market for a premium off-road capable SUV will have yet another enticing option. The JAECOO J8 presents another step forward for mass market options with a luxury positioning that is challenging expectations.
